Over the last few months we have been creating new rooms, installing new equipment and implementing new procedures to make sure that our patients continue to have a safe practice to visit and that our staff have a safe working environment.
We have introduced two very significant changes.
Firstly, we have installed a hospital standard air filtration system, which delivers safe and clean air to every room in the practice.
Secondly, we have just created a new central sterilisation room for the sterilisation and sealed packing of all instruments. This has allowed us to streamline the treatment rooms, making our sanitising processes easier between each appointment. We are really excited about the new sterilisation room, which was once filled with old 1940’s style filing cabinets before the practice became fully digital. Our lovely old building has certainly seen some changes!
During the summer months we have been caring only for our emergency patients but now our new measures mean that we can welcome you back for more routine treatments, including examinations and hygiene appointments.
If you are due to have your regular six-month check-up or hygienist appointment, please call us on 0117 9246070 and we will arrange your appointment. Don’t worry if you are overdue – it has been a strange time.
What to expect when you next visit us…
- We ask that you wear a face covering in the practice and can provide you with one if needed. You may be exempt from wearing a face covering – that’s fine, just let us know when you arrive.
- If possible, please attend your appointment on your own.
- If you prefer to wait in your car for your appointment, please phone to let us know that you have arrived and will ring you when we are ready to see you.
- On arrival, we will ask you to use our hand sanitiser in the entrance hall and wait for a team member to welcome you.
- We will record your temperature with an infrared handheld thermometer and ask you some Covid related health questions.
- Social distancing is observed throughout the practice and we have distancing signs in place to help you.
- In the waiting room you will see clear Covid barriers in between the seats.
- Please bring as few items with you as possible. Items which can only be carried by hand will be placed in a sterile container until you are ready to leave.
- Please avoid using the washroom facilities unless you really must and, if you do, let a team member know.
- Tie long hair back and brush your teeth before you leave your home or workplace.
- Payment by card only please.
These new measures are for everyone’s safety and protection, but we understand that your visit with us will be a different one.
Don’t worry – we are still the same lovely team… only behind masks and PPE!
We really look forward to welcoming you back.
Thank you for your continued support, patience and understanding.
The Redland Road Team.
